Cast Iron is a combination of Iron, Carbon and Silicon where the Carbon is crystallized outside the metallurgical structure. In gray cast iron the carbon is in the form of flakes. In 1948 it was found that adding Magnesium to the melt would convert the flake-shaped carbon of gray iron into the form of small spheres. This is today known as Ductile Iron or nodular cast iron. While most varieties of cast iron are brittle, ductile iron is much more flexible and elastic, due to its nodular graphite inclusions. In comparison with gray iron, ductile iron shows more tensile strength, more ductility and resistance to wear.During the past 50 years, ductile iron has been growingly noticed and used in the industries.Hamoun Nyzeh started mass production of Ductile Iron pipes in January 2009. HANYCO’s products comply with international standards of Ductile Iron pipes and fittings and are competitive to other similar products in domestic and international markets.
