Ductile Iron Pipes
Over fifty years ago, the birth of a new engineering material, Ductile Iron, was announced in 1948. Shortly after, in 1955, the first Ductile Iron Pipe was produced. A pipe bearing not only the properties of gray iron, but additionally it had an advantage of being flexible. Only after 12 years from the time it was first produced in Europe, it was also produced in Iran. The first production line of ductile iron pipe was launched in 1965 in Iran and during the past decade, manufacturing capacity of ductile iron pipes has increased from 4,000 MT to 70,000 MT per year. Hamoun Nyzeh Company (HANYCO) started mass production of DI pipes with a Diameter Nominal range of 80-700 mm in accordance with ISO 2531 in January 2009. Anti-Sulphate cement in accordance with ISO 4170 and metal Zinc together with bitumen-based paint according to ISO8179-2 are respectively applied to the inner and outer surfaces of the pipes for best protection. Pipes are of push-on joint type and are sealed by EPDM gaskets which are produced in accordance with ISO 4633. Ductile Iron pipes are environmental friendly and economical products due to their multilateral properties. Also their longevity and durability guarantee the provision of a successful investment on water conveying pro |
